I knew why I drank - but I needed to understand why it had so much power over me.
Why I couldn’t ask for help.
Why I kept choosing it over everything else.
Alcohol became my escape, my comfort, my control — until it wasn’t.
What once felt like relief turned into survival, and then into destruction.
I lost my health, my confidence, and the woman I thought I was.
I hit the point where even being told “you’re going to die” wasn’t enough to stop me.
That’s how strong the grip of addiction was.
On August 18th, 2021, I had a moment of clarity that changed everything.
Rock bottom wasn’t the end - it was the beginning.
I made a promise to myself: never drink again, and do whatever it took to heal, rebuild, and create a life that finally felt like mine.
That promise became a reclamation - a journey of healing my body, regulating my nervous system, releasing shame, setting boundaries, and uncovering the strength I’d buried beneath years of trauma.
I came home to myself.
And I’ve never looked back.
